About Sarah Cinquini

Endurance. Independence. New Perspectives.

Sarah Cinquini is an Italian ultracyclist, educator, FCI sports guide and first-level FCI instructor. Her journey brings together professional education, endurance cycling at the highest level and a commitment to social change.

A journey between education and sport

For more than ten years, Sarah has worked in training and professional development for people in the healthcare, education and social sectors. She has led training programmes, workshops and events focusing on parent-child relationships, touch, movement and communication.

Between 2013 and 2014, she also appeared in seven episodes of the Italian RAI 2 television programme “Detto e Fatto”, sharing knowledge about parenting and the physiological carrying of babies and children.

Achievements on two wheels

Alongside her professional career, Sarah has built an impressive record in ultracycling. She takes on some of Europe’s toughest unsupported races, where self-reliance, endurance and mental strength are essential.

In 2024, she became the first Italian woman to complete the NorthCape–Tarifa: more than 7,400 kilometres across 15 countries. She finished fifth overall and first in the women’s classification.

In 2025 and 2026, she completed two consecutive editions of the Transcontinental Race. In the 2026 edition, she covered approximately 4,800 kilometres and more than 60,000 metres of elevation gain, travelling from Trondheim, Norway, to Kalamata, Greece. She finished 10th among the women.

Since December 2024, Sarah has served as President of ASD FollettiVerdi, promoting cycling, ultradistance riding and the sharing of sporting experiences.

The next big goal: cycling around the world

In 2027, the year of her 50th birthday, Sarah aims to reach a new milestone. She is preparing an attempt to set a women’s record for an unsupported circumnavigation of the world by bicycle.

This ambitious project brings together everything that has shaped her journey so far: athletic performance, independence, adaptability, and physical and mental endurance.

“Perché una donna no?” – Why Not a Woman?

Sarah’s commitment extends beyond sport. Through her project “Perché una donna no?” (“Why Not a Woman?”), she promotes gender equality and equal opportunities, particularly in schools, associations and organisations.

Drawing on her personal and sporting experiences, she encourages young people to question stereotypes and the limitations society often places on women. Her belief is simple: ambition, freedom of choice and the ability to pursue personal goals should never be determined by gender.

The question “Why Not a Woman?” becomes a starting point for conversations about courage, independence, opportunity and the right to imagine a future without predetermined boundaries.

Sarah Cinquini’s story demonstrates what can happen when passion, endurance and the courage to take a different path come together.
